2 Skinnee J's, $upermercado!
by Michael Ochs, Las Vegas Weekly

Submitted for your approval: A rebellious group of Manhattan Project scientists breaks away to perform unsanctioned experiments in the field of genetic acoustics. Using the essence of numerous bands, they set out to create the uber-group. They take the following: the guitar riffs of Anthrax, the tag team rapping of the Beastie Boys, the funky hip-hop of The Goats, the sampling of Big Audio Dynamite and the humor of the Dead Milkmen. Each element is added, in the proper percentage, to the mix. And voila -- you have the most eclectic hip-hop band in a long time. In their own words: "We're greater than the sum of our parts." Even from the moment you open the liner notes (designed as a catalogue of outdated kitsch), you can tell this band is something different. And with their funky beats and fast and funny lyrics, 2 Skinnee J's give you a little something for your mind and your ass. But be forewarned, 2 Skinnee J's are not for everyone. Their cosmic sounds may be too esoteric for conventional tastes. That is to say, half-way through the album, it is clear that you are smack dab in the middle of... the Skinnee Zone.
