Hello and welcome to another informative edition of the 2 Skinnee J's Newsletter. In it you will find all you need to know about the upcoming plans for "America's Band", a.k.a. 2 Skinnee J's. As we mentioned in the last newsletter, things here remain somewhat uncertain. Our label, Capricorn Records, is currently attempting to either sell their catalog to another label or join with another parent label to distribute their records. The likely candidates at this point are Volcano Records (Tool, Matthew Sweet, HeadPE) and Artemis Records (Kittie and the Baha Men -- yes, that's right, the "Who Let the Dogs Out" guys). We, however, have decided to act like none of this is really happening -- the old close your eyes and pretend the monster breathing in your face doesn't really exist trick. We'll be touring for the month of November and then returning to the road in January/February of next year. Doing what we love the most. Just playing. We hope to see you there. A.J. Halloween Is Almost Here
Well, I still haven't figured out what to be for Halloween yet. People I used to think I could trust have been suggesting that I dress up as a pimp, but there is no way I could do that. Aside from feeling ridiculous in that outfit, I also think that it would send the wrong message to our fans and the youth of the world in general-- that manipulating and using other people for your own financial benefit is ok. I mean, these guys make their employees, or "hoes" in the "lingo" of today's "youth", parade and prance around wearing outrageous clothes in public while demanding upwards of 80% of their earnings, and that is something I cannot be party to. Now, while my lofty moral and ethical standards will ensure my place at the top of the pantheon of Champions when I finally pass into Jumbalaya, it also makes normally simple decisions like this one much more difficult. Not to mention that I REALLY don't feel like hunting down the J's for their annual Halloween "candy tax" this year... I mean, they can be really slippery when they want to be and I'm not getting any younger. Besides, doesn't Halloween lend credence to the pagan worship of a false god? A.J.
