From the Brilliant Mind of A.J. "Stumpy" Johnson As many of you know , the 2 Skinnee J's have gone through many trials and tribulations (some of which I didn't even orchaestrate) over the last several months. From the sale of our old label to the delay in the release of our STILL forthcoming album, "Volumizer", this has been a trying time for both the band and its fans. Being the astute businessman that I am, it recently became apparent to me that the band needed a shot in the arm to get it back on track and that is when I decided to conduct an amateur draft the same day and place as the NFL's draft, April 21-22 in Madison Square Garden. Some of you might have even spotted our command center right behind the catered buffet table during ESPN's national telecast. Regardless, I am proud to announce that we selected a stellar class of rookies for the 2002 Rock and Roll season, great news considering that there is only one position on the 2 Skinnee team that is completely safe (mine). While it has been difficult thus far to convince our draftees to attend our 1st minicamp on May 14th (they are all already members of much more successful bands), it is my hope that they can be persuaded with the right incentive. As a matter of fact, our #1 pick, Gavin Rossdale from Bush, is almost in the fold pending his agreement to always be shorter than me in exchange for a waiver of my insistence that he shave his head bald. Cross your fingers, fans -- this could be the greatest lineup the J's have ever had.... Free agent tryouts for the all-important Bunny position are being held this weekend at the Great Neck, NY YMCA at 8 am. Stumpy The J's Go To California Again On Monday, May 7th, we'll begin recording another few songs with Michael Bradford in Los Angeles. We'll be there for about two weeks and then will be back in New York until our summer touring begins. As of now the plan is to do a national tour in July that will hit 25 cities. More to follow on that when things get confirmed. Until then....
