Many Skinnee fans travelling to NYC during the 2SJ Farewell week have asked us about things to do. We suggest...

Sightseeing...
- EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. Fuck it's tall... located at 350 Fifth Ave, between 33rd and 34th Streets in midtown Manhattan. Visit www.esbnyc.com for info.
- STATEN ISLAND FERRY. An awesome trip through NYC harbor with amazing views of the downtown skyline. Plus it's FREE, making it much cheaper than the 2SJ Boat Cruise. Takes about 25 minutes each way. Located at Battery Park, downtown Manhattan. Visit http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/masstran/ferries/statfery.html
- CENTRAL PARK. One of the urban wonders of the world, not many people realize it is entirely man-made. Great for rollerblading, rowing, biking (you can rent all of these), horse & carriage rides, or just hanging out catching rays. It's exquisitely designed and has many different "environments" so you feel like you're exploring several different parks. Also, Saturday July 19 marks a park-wide celebration of it's 150th anniversay with tons of free events and celebrations. Visit http://www.centralparknyc.org for complete listings, maps, and history.
- GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL. Pretty cool for a train station, and everyone's favorite meeting place in Manhattan. There are free tours every Wednesday at 12:30pm, and free weekend tours all July & August at 11am. Visit http://www.grandcentralterminal.com/
- the CLOISTERS. The Cloisters are located on four acres overlooking the Hudson River in northern Manhattan's Fort Tryon Park and incorporate elements from five medieval French cloisters - You won't believe you're in NYC. Visit http://www.metmuseum.org/visitor/index.asp#Cloisters

Museums...
- Metropolitan Museum of Art. http://www.metmuseum.org/home.asp
- Museum of Modern Art. http://www.moma.org
- the Guggenheim Museum. http://www.guggenheim.org/
- the Whitney Museum. http://www.whitney.org/welcome.html
- the Cloisters.

Shopping...
- East Village/Lower East Side. Take the L train to 1st Avenue and keep walking south
- Broadway/Soho. Chic but pricey shops, galleries, places to eat. Walk south on Broadway between Houston and Canal Sts., and make sure you explore the side streets. You might spot a celebrity or two.
- Fifth Ave. between 50th and 57th Streets
- Williamsburg, Brooklyn -- the new hipster center of the universe. Just take the L train to Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn (only one stop out of Manhattan)
- Chinatown Take the Q, N or R train to Canal street and see it for yourself!!!!

Enjoy! And see you at the shows!!!
