Well That's That!! Finally, a few weeks after saying farewell, we are all just beginning to settle into our lives post 7/18. What a goodbye it was! A week full of Skinnee Activities -- including a Boat Cruise and a Retirement Party -- prefaced the 7/18 Farewell Extravaganza, fittingly held in New York's very own Times Square. As far as we are concerned, our farewell show could not have been any more successful or moving. There was a documentary hosted by Stephen Hawking recounting the history of the J's; There were dancers shaking their stuff in skimpy outfits to a medley of old skool Skinnee songs; There were 2 full sets of music including almost every song the J's have ever written; There was an unending fountain of booze; There was a corner where people got their pictures taken with Stumpy in front of the Bird of Prey; There was a museum of Skinnee costumes over the years; There was an after show party with our friends and companions; There was Stumpy and his Chief of Research and Development, Dr. Herkelsberg, with StumpyCorp's patented medical cure for overcoming ISLS (Imminent Skinnee Loss Syndrome)... But most importantly, there was you -- our loyal fans. The crowd, over 1,000 strong kept going for all 2 1/2 hours of our set and showered us with love and appreciation. We were truly among friends and we owe all of you who came to share that performance with us our gratitude. People came from such faraway destinations as Alabama, Arizona, California, Kansas, South Carolina, Nebraska and Illinois, just to name a few. Old friends came from every corner of our nation and an entire roster of former Skinnee J's were there to witness it all. And for those of you who weren't able to travel to New York, or who were unable to score a ticket, please know that you were missed. We know, you see, that we have some of the greatest fans in the world. A collection of colorful misfits like ourselves who all take as much joy as we do in getting together with friends and having fun, great sweaty fever inducing good times for all. Over the course of our Farewell Tour, we talked to hundreds of people, people for whom the band is as important to them as it is to us. Without you, none of this would have meant much. Your lasting support of our endeavor is what has made our 12 years so rewarding. And so, it could not be with more appropriate sentiment that we stood on stage waving goodbye while the strains of the Theme to Dirty Dancing filled the air. As the song goes, "I had the time of my life. I've never felt this way before. And I swear, yes it's true... I owe it all to you......." Thanks again. See you at the reunion.

Here's a short summary of what's going down with the boys: Stevie Spice has moved to California to be handsome professionally. Lance Corporal is living the high life in New York City, hoping to be discovered as the next IT THING. Eddie Eyeball is producing a collection of songs for an up and coming North Carolina band and will soon return to his former job of driving hookers to their Johns. Special J is doing time at a desk job at a civil rights organization, all the while working on his new cartoon project, Tinosaurs. J. Guevara is moving to Europe to teach the people of Barcelona his own brand of Spanglish. A.J. Stumpy Johnson is in Washington, DC, working behind the scenes to bring about the increase of his own wealth. Dr. Herkelsberg is doing what he does best. Curing the foulest diseases this earth has to throw at him.
