New Year’s 2004 Puts a Temporary Quash on the Nationwide ISLS Outbreak!

Reports stateside were grim that growing ranks of ISLS sufferers would potentially affect the economy and mindset of the population of the United States so profoundly that it may never recover. So what to do? Bring in A.J. “Stumpy” Johnson, the only man with enough insight and influence to do something about it. After consulting with his top research scientists, led by the world renowned Dr. Vivian Herkelsberg, M.D., he came to realize that too many die hard cases were unaffected by his $99 video cure. And that the only way to save our country - and to temporarily halt the growing ISLS crisis - was to bring the infirm before the curative powers of one of the greatest live bands in history! And so it was! From all over the globe the Skinnee J’s assembled, seeing each other together for the first time in months in order to celebrate the dawn of a new year. And what a way to bring it in. Getting together with our closest friends and playing the music we love so much. Seeing Dolphins and Unicorns in loving embrace. After a rousing introduction and New Year’s Toast led by Stumpy and Dr. Herkelsberg, we took the stage. It was almost as though we’d never left it. The show was an incredible rush, only tempered by Stevie Spice’s absence. But our trusted compatriot and longtime soundman/tour manager Top Notch Ray Amico filled in note for note. Augmented by a fantastic light show and glow in the dark outfits, not to mention the first onstage performance of the rarity “Secret Frequency” from the original Capricorn version of Volumizer, the show was a Skinnee classic. And afterwards we partied with over 100 friends and fans backstage ‘til 5 a.m. Oh the Booze! Oh the hot tub! Most of us didn’t hit pillows ‘til we got back to our homes.

And so, we’d like to thank all the Skinnee fans who came in from all over the country to join us at the Norva in Norfolk for New Year’s Eve 2004!! You have done your part to make this nation stronger and more healthy.

Hopefully we’ll see you again some time and we’ll get together for One More Party!

A NOTE FROM THE BOYS

It was truly a pleasure to get together and play on New Year’s Eve. Not only because we got to enjoy each other on stage again after such a long absence, but also because we got to see so many of our friends and fans with whom we’ve shared so many many evenings. Thanks to all of you who made it. We’re sorry about the high price and the 21 and up restriction, but it was the only way we could make it work. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to make it up to you.

Enjoy 2004!
